Thank Public School Teachers, Senator Obama!

This is the first week, after Clinton's decisive loss in NC, I felt the media stopped promoting this election like some kind of reality T.V. show. For the past year, both the press and the public have easily slipped into a delusional, alternate universe in which there are no real consequences to misspoken words or unsubstantiated military actions, superficial minutiae is more newsworthy than policy and world crises roll merrily along from a distance for our media satiated enjoyment. Sadly, network ratings have seemed to be more important than choosing a President who is capable of leading this country from the brink of economic and diplomatic disaster. Now...with Hillary on the ropes, Fox “ospinionators” sputter for superlatives as they try to swim in deeper waters and yesterday Wolf Blitzer finally conducted a relevant interview with Obama about his policies rather than plying him with questions like, "Why don't you always wear a flag pin?"

The fact that Obama is probably going to be the nominee for the Democratic party, despite fierce opposition from certain media outlets and other corporate funded entities, is perhaps evidence that public school teacher's efforts over the last 20 years to teach school children how to differentiate between media spin and real facts is now allowing the young people of this country to join both "latte sipping eggheads" and concerned citizens of all colors, age, gender, creed and economic status in making decisions based on independent thought rather than the opinions of political pundits.

Hope for real change is in the air. Let's move forward into the 21st century!
