Give Me Patience, Lord

Ignorance is not bliss,
it's just plain ignorance
groping in the darkness of reason
stumbling towards articulate illusions
that ring brassy and false.
In the heat of this battle against cognitive tyranny,
Light, dim yet still bright,
sings round the edge of consciousness.
If we listen,
if we see,
he gives us the tools to heal,
he shows us the way to Live.
But if we do not listen,
if we do not see,
we can only stand,
face to face with our ignorance,
